During work on the experimental setup needed to generate quantum private states (Physical Review Letters, 106, 2011, 030501, see Publications for details) I developed an application in LabView that using an FPGA card was counting single photons and coincidences. The software was controlling also 11 rotors with half- and quarter-waveplates. The full measurement last 81 hours, therefore the experimental setup had to be autonomous.
